Word amount criteria

Good evening Instructor
I have a problem about word amount criteria. As in every module, there're word limit criteria such as 250-300 words.
I found that I couldn't include all necessary information I wanted to tell within that limitation. This is the main problem of me and my team members.
Therefore, I would like to make sure that if I write my task with more words than the criteria specified, I will be cut the score or not. Is that the serious criteria? How many words I can over the limitation? Could you please clarify it?

It's important that you try editing your own work to keep the specified length. Some unnecessary and irrelevant information can be deleted. Editing is also a useful writing skill. Your written work can be just a little shorter or longer, but not much. If it is much shorter or longer, some points can be deducted.
