The course is designed to equip students with essential reading skills: vocabulary building, scanning, skimming, making connections between the main ideas and supporting ideas, linking (cohesion), identifying writer’s tone, and making inferences. The course paves way for English Reading 2.
The course content helps students decode the meaning of what they read and helps them to move along the lines. Students are encouraged to do the 4 online practices in D4LP and participate in the live chat and the webboard (forum) board discussions.
Ajarn Bryan will be joining the webboard discussions too. We’re trying to make the course more interactive and encourage students to be interactive with their own reading.
