Welcome to 14213 English Reading 1! I’m Chirasiri, your teacher

The course is designed to equip students with essential reading skills: vocabulary building, scanning, skimming, making connections between the main ideas and supporting ideas, linking (cohesion), identifying writer’s tone, and making inferences. The course paves way for English Reading 2.
The course content helps students decode the meaning of what they read and helps them to move along the lines. Students are encouraged to do the 4 online practices in Moodle and participate in the live chat and the webboard (forum) board discussions.

Please be informed that our learning platform has moved from D4L+P to Moodle. You can use the same log in acccount.

On behalf of the English faculty, I'm trying to make the course more interactive and encourage you to be interactive with your own reading.
