Welcome to Principles of Translation course in the first semester of 2018. Translation can be regarded as both a science and an art. A successful translator cannot only have good command of a target language, but needs to be good at her/his mother tongue, in this case, Thai. This course is meant to equip you with knowledge in theories and principles of translation as the title suggests, as well as problems or "challenges" you encounter when translating. You will have a chance to practice translating from English to Thai, bearing in mind that there may be more than one good answer or version. Some of you who have experience in this line of work, but may not have learned about the basic principles will have an advantage of making use of your background knowledge together with what you have got from the course to do your tasks. Those who have no idea, but want to explore this new horizon will have to study hard and practice a lot in order to be successful. I hope you all will enjoy your studies without too much trouble. If you have any questions, please contact me at assananya@gmail.com.

Thank you for your suggestion, but the link to this forum board has been provided when you click on "useful information" on the learning environment page where all the module titles are listed. I hope that's convenient enough for students to get access to the board.
